Dipping into the book of Ruth

The Book of Ruth is a beautiful love story which reflects the theme of the Bible, which is a book about love too. The Bible’s unifying message is that God is love, and that God has loved with such an intensity and depth that He gave His only begotten Son to die for a world of sinners.

Truly Ruth not only teaches us that God loves lost sinners, but that He has opened remarkable blessing through His redemptive love seen most beautifully portrayed in Boaz, the Kinsman-Redeemer.

It also contains a beautiful example of filial piety, and aims to demonstrate the divine reward for such piety even when practiced by a stranger. Ruth’s piety, her spirit of self-sacrifice, and her moral integrity were blessed by God with the gift of faith and an illustrious marriage whereby she became the ancestress of David and of our Lord Jesus Christ. In this, the universality of the messianic salvation is foreshadowed.

May you be richly blessed by this love story of a remarkable Gentile woman of humble circumstances and a God-fearing wealthy Jewish man
